3) Loadout check

• Meat equipped and matches session type
• Grinder matches process upgrades

Fix items via Best Items before blaming prestige timing.

4) Unlockable check

• You are not one easy unlock away from a feature that would change the decision
• Post-1.0 unlock track (deep levels) is understood—demo’s ~30 cm mindset is obsolete
• Growth Journal curiosity is not the only reason you are delaying a strong reset

5) Technical check

• Steam Cloud synced (especially dual PC)
• You are not evaluating a Steam refund (idle time counts—see Steam Deals)
• No known patch in the next hour that might rebalance prestige returns (Updates)

6) Costume / voucher check

Step-by-step reset ritual

1. Screenshot Game Stats (size, prestige count, notable multipliers).
2. Write one sentence goal: “Reset to buy X exclusive” or “Reset to raise permanent multiplier before unlock push.”
3. Spend only what still helps the current run’s last objective.
4. Confirm loadout; unequip confusion.
5. Prestige.
6. Immediately buy the planned Golden Sausage exclusive (do not idle in the menu deciding fashion).
7. Re-equip best starter trio for the new run.
8. Run a 10-minute real PC session to verify growth feels stronger.
9. If it does not, adjust items before panic-spending soft currency.

Time Travel layer notes

Official copy describes Time Travel as a second prestige-style system that “insanely” boosts gains toward the sausage’s ultimate goal, alongside World Domination framing at launch. Practical implications:

• Treat Time Travel planning as late-mid to late game, after you understand ordinary prestige.
• Do not dump every resource into temporary shop rows if you are hours from unlocking the deeper layer.
• Revisit Launch Notes when unsure what 1.0 expected players to unlock.
• Use the same checklist questions—swap “Golden Sausage exclusive” for whatever currency/shop the Time Travel layer surfaces in your build.

Common prestige mistakes

Prestige as entertainment. Resets are tools. If you reset hourly without buying permanents, you are cosplaying progress.

Hoarding forever. Infinite delay also fails. When S-tier exclusives are available and soft gains flattened, take the reset.

Ignoring items. A prestige cannot fix an empty cleaver slot.

Refund blindness. Background idle time still counts on Steam.

Demo timing. 1.0 rebalanced the game; old “prestige at X cm” heuristics may be wrong.
